Seven Dead, More Than 30 Injured in Bolivia Bus Accident

LA PAZ At least seven people died and 36 were injured when a bus crashed in western Bolivia, police said.

The accident occurred shortly before noon Saturday on the highway between the cities of Sucre and Potosi, when a bus of the Trans Azul company with some 50 passengers on board skidded off the road and turned over for reasons still under investigation.

Most of the injured, suffering varying degrees of harm, were taken to the Santa Barbara Hospital in Sucre.

The Bolivian station Radio Fides reported Saturday that one of the injured is of Argentine nationality, though officials could not confirm that information.
