Clinton Sends Best Wishes to Bolivia on Its Independence Day
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sends best wishes to the people of Bolivia as they celebrate the 187th anniversary of independence on August 6.

By Hillary Rodham Clinton
U.S. Secretary of State

WASHINGTON – On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Bolivia as you celebrate the 187th anniversary of your independence this August 6.

Bolivia and the United States take great pride in our countries’ rich and diverse heritage. Celebrations such as these draw our people closer together. Respect for liberty and the protection of our rich cultural traditions are at the center of our relationship.

I send best wishes for a year of peace and prosperity to Bolivians everywhere as you celebrate this special day and honor your history.
