LIMA – Peru’s air force displayed its entire range of aircraft in an exhibition over Lima during the first Costa Verde Aero Sports Festival.
The airplanes flew low along Lima’s coastline and over the districts of Chorrillos, Barranco, Miraflores, San Isidro, Magdalena del Mar and San Miguel while thousands looked on.
First in the aerial parade were transport aircraft, including C-130 Hercules, 32B Antonov, and C-27J Spartan, followed by Mi-171-SH, Mi-25, Bell 212 and Bolkow helicopters.
Also showcased were smaller planes such as the South Korean-made KT-1P, used for pilot training.
The climax of the event saw more than 50 combat airplanes – Mirage 2000s, MIG-29s, A-37B Dragon Flies – performing complex maneuvers over the capital.
