SANTIAGO Ė Corpesca S.A., one of Chileís largest fishing companies, said Tuesday that it has signed an agreement to buy 30 percent of Brazilian feed producer Fasa for $44 million.

In a regulatory filing, Corpesca, a unit of conglomerate Copec, said that Brazilian businessman Valdir Jose Federhen and the VJF&F partnership had agreed to sell nearly a third of their holding in Fasa.

Fasa produce high-quality protein concentrates used as ingredients in animal feed, obtaining in the process fats and oils used in the biodiesel industry.
