BUENOS AIRES -- Argentina Presidential candidate Sergio Massa has announced that he will remain in the electoral race.
In a public address, he said that he intends to be "the president of all Argentines."
According to the latest CEIS poll, Massa is polling third, with 14% of potential votes, behind probable government candidate Daniel Scioli in the lead with 30% and likely opposition leader Mauricio Macri with 24%.
During the last week, there had been reports that Massa would abandon his presidential bid in order to run for governor of the Province of Buenos Aires.
Local press had also reported about a possible pact with opposition party PRO.
Under the possible agreement, Mauricio Macri would run for the presidency while Massa would have run for the province of Buenos Aires governorship. These conversations seem to have been unsuccessful.
The last day to submit the formal presidential candidacy is 20 June.
