200 Mexican Couples Tie the Knot to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

MEXICO CITY – Some 200 Mexican couples participated in a mass wedding over the weekend in the Pacific resort city of Acapulco to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Acapulco’s city government organized Sunday’s mass wedding, which took place two days ahead of the actual holiday.

The brides wore dresses in different tones of white, with many opting for the traditional white veil.

The grooms were attired in white shirts with white or black pants for the ceremony on the beach.

The mass wedding, which was performed under the guidelines of the Catholic Church, is one of the events in the city government’s “Construyendo mi matrimonio” (Building My Marriage) program.
