VERACRUZ, Mexico – The body of Mexican commentator and reporter Armando Saldaña Morales, 53, was found bearing signs of torture in Oaxaca state in southern Mexico, official sources reported.
Saldaña Morales worked for radio stations ‘La Ke Buena’ and ‘Radio Max’ in the border region between Oaxaca and Veracruz.
According to officials, the body was found in an area between the Morelos and La Aurora localities in Cosolapa municipality.
The body showed four bullet holes in the back of the neck and apparent signs of torture.
It was found abandoned next to Saldaña Morales’ truck.
Officials said preliminary investigations revealed he was intercepted en route to his house in Laguna Chica, in Veracruz’s Tezonapa municipality.
So far no reports of possible suspects or likely motives for the crime have been released.
Saldaña Morales collaborated with numerous media entities, including ‘El Mundo de Córdoba’, ‘El Sol de Córdoba’ and ‘Crónica de Tierra Blanca’, and was a commentator on the program ‘La Grilla Punto y Debate’.
