SAO PAULO – Brazil’s annual “Miss Bumbum” beauty pageant was won on Monday by Miss Amazonas, who took to the stage a flag saying “Out Temer,” in protest against the country’s president, Michel Temer.
A total of 14 contestants took part in the event, held at a night club in Vila Madalena, one of the trendier neighborhoods of Sao Paulo.
The winner of the 2017 edition of the contest was Rosie Oliveira, representing the state of Amazonas, who criticized the Brazilian president for his government’s environmental policy.
Dressed in an outfit typical of some indigenous tribes, Oliveira got onstage carrying Brazil’s flag, which read “Out Temer.”
“I represent Amazonas and I want to show that I’m not just a pretty butt. I want to show that in Brazil there are many things, such as our Amazon, which is beautiful and the best thing we have in Brazil,” Oliviera told EFE.
