Kazakhstan’s President Sends Condolences to Brazil after Plane Crash

ASTANA – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has expressed his condolences to the people of Brazil after a plane crash killed 71 people, including members of a Brazilian football team, the president’s Akorda office said on Wednesday.

“Nursultan Nazarbayev took with deep sorrow the sad news of the death of Brazilian citizens in the crash, which occurred in the airspace of the Republic of Colombia,” Akorda said, citing a telegram Nazarbayev sent to Brazilian counterpart Michel Temer.

“We share the pain of loss. On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on my own behalf I express sincere condolences to the bereaved families and relatives, as well as all Brazilian people,” Nazarbayev said in the telegram.

The Kazakh Head of State wished the injured a speedy recovery and return to their families, Akorda said.
