Siemens to Build Two Tech Centers in Southern China

SHANGHAI – Siemens is set to build two technology centers in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China, seeking to bridge the gap between demand and supply for the Chinese market.

China’s official news agency Xinhua reported a company statement late Saturday, in which it explained that Siemens is set to build its industrial software global R&D center and Siemens Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center in Chengdu.

Both the centers will cost 1 billion yuan (approximately $148 million) and be located in the Chengdu high-tech development zone.

According to the executive vice president of Siemens China, Wang Haibin, the new centers will narrow the gap between demand and supply to the Chinese market.
