Internal Director of PDVSA

Licensed on Public Accounting from the Universidad del Zulia (LUZ), 1972. He has taken several specialization courses and postgraduates on the finances and management areas, at the University of Columbia (New York, U.S.A), and the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, U.S.A.).

Mr. Carruyo has over 38 years of experience in the oil and petrochemical industry nationwide. He began his career at the Corporación Venezolana del Petróleo in 1964.

In 1991 he was transferred to Palmaven, as Finance Manager, and later he occupied the post of Director at that company. He retired in 1997, and then returned in the year 2000 as Commercial Commissioner of PDVSA until 2002. The following year, he was appointed Finance Executive of PDVSA, later he was selected Director of CITGO Corporation, PDVSA Finance, PDVSA Insurance, PDV Holding, and APJ International.

He has been the Internal Director of PDVSA since January 2005.
