Mr. Mommer has worked as a professor and researcher for a long time in several Venezuelan universities.
From 1991 until 1995, he held the post of Senior Advisor of the Coordinación de Planificación de Petróleos de Venezuela.
From 1995 to 2001, he was the Associate Senior Researcher of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and of the St. Anthony’s College, in Oxford.
He was also advisor of Alí Rodríguez Araque - who during the years 1999 and 2000 was the Minister of Energy and Mines - as well as his consultant during his time as the General Secretary of the OPEP, during 2002 in Vienna.
Prior to his appointment as the General Director of the PDV UK, which is an affiliate of PDVSA at the United Kingdom, he was the Advisor of the President of PDVSA. In January 2005 he was appointed Director of PDVSA.
