Ramírez, Rafael

Mines and Energy Minister and President of PDVSA

Mechanical Engineer graduated from Universidad de los Andes in 1989, with a Master's on Energy at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

He started his professional career in Intervep.
He has a wide experience on the development, coordination and management of engineering and construction projects for the oil and gas national industry. He has worked in several projects in the United States and France.
He was the founding president of the Ente Nacional de Gas, which is an organization in charge of the development of the National Gas Plan, and responsible of the design and promotion of the local state policies.
In February 2002, he was appointed Foreign Director of Petroleos de Venezuela.
