Mead, Philip

Born in London, England on March 3, 1951.

Obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from Aston University in Birmingham (1973) and his MBA at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France (1985).

He has 24 years experience in the oil industry and started his career with British Petroleum in the North Sea.

After various operational assignments in areas as diverse as Gabon, Tunisia, Brazil and China, he was transferred to Corporate Planning at BP's London Headquarters. Various management assignments followed in Indonesia, Ecuador and Colombia. He arrived Venezuela in November 1997 as Asset Manager for Lasmo's Dacion oil field.

Married to Carol with three children: Martin, Matthew and Kimberly.
