García Koch, Juan Francisco

Director of Esenterm C.A., an energy engineering services and consulting firm specialized in the fields of combustion and industrial energy efficiency.

The company represents EnvirosMarch (a UK leader in environmental and energy efficiency consulting services), NAO Flares, and EPCON Industrial Incineration and Heat Recovery Equipment.

Graduated in Fuel and Energy Engineering (B.Eng. Hons), University of Leeds, and Senior Member of the Association of Energy Engineers. Since co-founding Esenterm in 1994, has been a consultant on several European Commission technical co-operation projects on the efficient use of energy and technology promotion. Has also assisted PDVSA affiliates and private sector companies in thermal plant troubleshooting, optimisation and capacity enhancement. Prior to this worked as a Combustion Field Service Engineer at PDVSA ITEVEP's Refining Department, responsible for Boiler and Process Heater Evaluation and Optimisation, in several PDVSA refineries and petrochemical plants. Was also consultant to PDVSA affiliates on the use of sulphur and vanadium rich refinery streams as fuels in fluidised bed combustion systems and as feedstocks in gasification processes for the production of Power and Chemicals. Prior to joining the firm's combustion section, worked as Process Engineer in the Thermal Conversion Section, where he was responsible for the pilot design, implementation and development of PDVSA INTEVEP's Process for the Production of Anode Petroleum Tar Pitch used in the Aluminum Industry.
