Duarte Vivas, Andrés
Member of the Editorial Council of The Daily Journal

Born and raised in Venezuela. Geological Engineering and Business degrees (BA, MS, and MBA).

Initially worked with Venezuelan Government (Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons), and in private sector in Cements and Ceramics (Mendoza Group).

In 1975 started wholly owned independent consulting business that has evolved into equity interests in various companies in commodity trading, shipping, port services and transportation companies.

Mr. Duarte is a Director of Comercializadora De Cacao de Venezuela, C.A., (CCV), Naviera Pacifico C.A., Agencia Slinger C.A., C.A. Venezolana de Pulpa y Papel (VENEPAL), Industrial El Plamar S.A., and various subsidiaries of the Banco Venezolano de Credito (Sociedad Financiera Soficredito, Vencred S.A., and Valores Vencred) and the TecnoConsult-Tecnofluor Group of Engineering companies.

Married to Laura Otero de Duarte, they have two daughters and a son.
