Was Vice-President of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. He was also President of Petróleos de Venezuela (USA), Chairman of the Board of PDV (Amercia), and President of the Supervisory Board of PDV Europe. He studied at the Venezuelan Central University (UCV), Oxford and Harvard. He has been Presiedent of three Venezuelan oil and gas companies, Vice-President of Mobil de Venezuela (1974), President of the Venezuelan Petroleum Chamber, and President of Xerox de Venezuela.
He has been a member of several Boards of Directors of Venezuelan financial and industrial firms, such as Royal Insurance of Venezuela, Banco de Venezuela, Beecham. Advisor to the Venezuelan National Security Council.

In civic activities, Mr. Alcock has been a member of the Board of Directors of Venezuelan Scouts, Y.M.C.A., Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce; a member of the Board of the Trustees of the Institute for Advanced Management Studies of Venezuela, President and Founder of the Interamerican University Foundation, and is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Caracas Chamber of Commerce.
Honours: Commander of the British Empire (CBE); Commander of the House of Orange (Holland); Honorary State Citizen, Texas; Honorary State Senator, Louisiana; Order of the Venezuelan Armed Forces; Order of Miranda (Venezuela); Order of the Venezuelan National Guard; Order Alberto Adriani (Venezuela); Order Diego de Losada (Venezuela). In 1996 he was given the award "Man of the Year" of the Boys' Town of America and Italy. Publications: Numerous works on Management, Oil and Energy.
