Roosen, Gustavo

President of Cantv and President in charge of Movilnet.

A lawyer graduated from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in 1966. In 1968 he finished postgraduate studies on comparative law at New York University.

President of the Board of Interventions of Banco Latino since March 1994 and Special Commissioner for the Presidency on the Reform of the National Financial System since April of that same year.

In 1989 he was designated the Minister of Education, a post he held until his designation as the President of Petróleos de Venezuela in 1992.

He has acted as the General Coordinator of the Food Division of Organización Polar, as well as the President of the Board of Directors of Envases Venezolanos S.A., the Director of Banco Provincial SAICA, and member of the boards of directors of several companies.

Among other activities, he has been the Vice-President of the Banking Association from 1981 to 1983, and President of the Chamber of Commerce of Caracas from 1986 to 1988.
