Digital Editorial Manager, AS/COA Online
Americas Society/Council of the Americas, New York

Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) seek an exceptional writer and copyeditor with demonstrated digital media experience and an interest in Latin America to serve as an editorial manager for our website (www.as-coa.org). The person should be able to manage competing demands across departments and our three U.S. offices. Americas Society and Council of the Americas are sister organizations focused on the most pressing issues affecting the Western Hemisphere. The position is based in our New York headquarters. Some international travel may be required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Editorial: Writing and producing content for the website, such as explainers, interviews, Latin America updates, blog posts, and infographics; assisting with the website’s editorial strategy.
Copyediting: First edits, copyedits, proofing, and factchecking of website content and organization-wide materials.
Website and CMS Management: Supporting updates to homepage and content across the site, troubleshooting website bugs, and coordinating with web developer on site updates.
Social media: Promoting, creating, and posting content about AS/COA’s publications and events to organizations’ main social media profiles, playing a central role in AS/COA’s social media strategy, live-tweeting events, and staying informed of best practices.
Analytics: Reviewing and reporting website and e-newsletter analytics, as well as tracking social media following.
Photo research: Conducting photo research for images to accompany AS/COA content and events, providing photo selection and editing support to other departments, and creating slideshows.
Marketing: Working on digital strategies to raise the profile of AS/COA, its international and domestic programming, and its publications.
Qualifications:

Minimum three years experience with online media, editing, and updating web content required.
Excellent English-language writing and editing skills.
Working knowledge of Spanish and knowledge of Latin America preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of social media, particularly when it comes to increasing followers and engagement, community management, analysis using analytics tools, and making use of social media as a marketing tool.
Knowledge of Photoshop, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, audio editing, meme tools such as Canva, and infographic tools such as Piktochart or infogram highly preferred.
BA or MA in journalism, communications, or other relevant field.
