Live and Work in the USA -- Register for FREE for a US Diversity Visa
FREE online registration for the 50,000 US visas given away in the 2016 United States Diversity Visa Lottery began on October 1 and ends November 3. The Latin American Herald Tribune is proud to say that some of our readers won a visa in the lottery last year that they learned about through us. We hope you will join them -- and if you do, please let us know!

WASHINGTON, D. C. -- Online registration for the 2016 United States Diversity Visa Lottery began on October 1, 2014 at 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), and will close on November 3, 2014 at 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4).

This congressionally mandated program makes available up to 50,000 diversity visas every year. Winners are randomly drawn from the people who enter and meet eligibility requirements.

For DV-2016, natives of the following countries are NOT eligible to apply this year, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years:

  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Dominican Republic
  • Ecuador
  • El Salvador
  • Haiti
  • Jamaica
  • Mexico
  • Peru

But if your Latin American or Caribbean country is not on that list, you should definitely apply! There is no charge to download and complete the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form.
Click here to read the program instructions and to find out if you are eligible to apply.

If you plan to apply, watch out for fraudulent websites posing as official U.S. government websites. Some companies posing as the U.S. government have sought money in order to “complete” Diversity Visa entry forms. REMEMBER, THERE IS NO CHARGE TO DOWNLOAD AND COMPLETE THE ELECTRONIC DIVERSITY VISA ENTRY FORM.
