LONDON – Prince Harry of England and his girlfriend Meghan Markle will marry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018, Kensington Palace announced on Tuesday.
The Gothic style chapel, located in the lower ward of Windsor Castle – one of the main royal residences of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and her husband Prince Phillip – dates back to the 15th century and can accommodate up to 800 guests.
“Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel,” said an official statement from Kensington Palace.
The royal family would be paying for the wedding, the Palace added.
Prince Harry’s engagement to American actress Meghan Markle was announced on Monday and the pair made a brief media appearance.
The couple would be carrying out their first official engagements together in the northern English city of Nottingham on Friday, the Palace said.
