Chelsea Clinton Expecting Another Child

WASHINGTON – Chelsea Clinton, the only daughter of ex-President Bill Clinton and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, announced Monday that she is pregnant and is expecting her second child, to be born next year.

“Next summer, Charlotte is going to be a big sister! Feeling very blessed & grateful this holiday season,” her mother said on her Twitter account.

Charlotte, the first and until now the only granddaughter of the famous couple, was born in September last year of Chelsea’s marriage to Marc Mezvinsky.

The proud maternal grandparents wasted no time in responding to today’s good news.

“Your dad and I could not be happier for you, Marc, and Charlotte. We’re so excited to meet our second grandchild!” said the former secretary of state and current presidential hopeful of the Democratic Party in the same Twitter posting.

Ex-President Clinton added on Twitter that “Christmas comes early! @HillaryClinton and I are thrilled for Chelsea, Marc and Charlotte’s growing family in 2016!”

The Democratic Party’s favorite candidate to win next year’s presidential election often mentions her granddaughter in campaign speeches, above all when speaking of future generations.

The birth of her second grandchild, whose sex is as yet unknown, will more or less coincide with the presidential conventions, both of the Democrats and of the Republicans, at which their respective official candidates will be announced.
