Wisdom and success of 80 fruitful years
In the year 1925, the group of Venezuelan businessmen who founded the “Banco Neerlando Venezolano”, never imagined the amazing growth that they would achieve along the years,

until becoming one of the most important and strong financial institutions in Venezuela, Banco Mercantil.
During 56 years, they adopted the corporative identity of Banco Mercantil y Agrícola, located in the Gran Casa Camejo, protagonist of important and decisive historic moments, some of which, people could remember, when watching the plasma screens placed around Quinta La Esmeralda, where Gustavo Marturet and all the Mercantil important team, gathered to celebrate this one-of-a-kind anniversary.
This was an important date for numerous personalities of the economic, financial and social sectors, who assisted to congratulate and share the happiness and pride of each member of this magnificent team that has dedicated to work for Venezuela’s health, and has developed diverse social responsibility programs.
Banco Mercantil is today situated on Av. Andrés Bello, where it has stood since 1982, and reflects the spirit of this institution that works for educational, health and social programs. Ponle ca-riño a tu colegio is one of those which has rescued 225 elementary schools, where more than 800,000 students, teachers, directives and representatives work.
Banco Mercantil, more than a bank and a trustworthy financial institution, has been a symbol of the country, a witness of its good and difficult times, and especially one of Venezuela’s unconditional friends!
