Belgium’s Prince Amedeo to Wed Long-Time Girlfriend

BRUSSELS – Prince Amedeo, the nephew of Belgium’s King Philippe, became engaged to journalist Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein in a ceremony in Brussels.

The event took place with family members in attendance at the residence of the prince’s parents, Princess Astrid, the sister of the king, and her husband, Prince Lorenz, the Belga news agency reported.

King Philippe and Queen Matilde were the guests of honor at the celebration.

Amedeo, who will turn 28 on Friday, is the oldest of the five children of Astrid and Lorenz and the first of the grandchildren of former King Albert II to become engaged.

Also attending the event were the parents of the bride-to-be, Italian film producer Nobile Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein and Countess Lilia de Smecchia.

Amedeo and “Lili” Rosboch, 26, live in New York, where he has resumed his studies at Columbia University after having worked for the Deloitte consulting firm, and she is a journalist for Bloomberg.

The couple have been in a romantic relationship for five years, according to Le Soir newspaper.

Raised in Rome, Lili moved to London in 2006 to study literature and film.
