Mel Gibson Produces, Directs Music Videos of Russian Singer Oksana in Mexico

MEXICO CITY -- American moviemaker Mel Gibson is producing in Mexico City four videos of Russian singer and pianist Oksana, the production company told Efe.

The settings chosen for the videos are old buildings in the Mexican capital, such as the Cine Opera theater (currently closed) and the Alameda tree-lined avenue in the Santa Maria neighborhood, with its Moorish-style kiosk built at the end of the 19th century.

Oksana, according to the source, sings, composes and plays piano, and the four numbers she is recording for these videos are sung in English.

Gibson, who finishes his work here Sunday, has told members of the production company that he doesn't want to give interviews.

In August, an Australian tabloid tried to link the actor to the Russian singer -- throwing his married life into doubt.

Gibson has been married to his wife Robyn for 28 years and the pair have seven children together.

The star's representatives were quick to refute the claims of a close relationship between the actor and singer, insisting they are just colleagues.

The star's publicist at the time told Britain's Daily Mail tabloid, "(Oksana is) one of the artists on Mel's recording label Icon and is currently in the U.S. recording a new album. She's a musician."

Gibson also produced in Mexico the movie "Apocalypto" about the Maya civilization that was filmed in Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico at the end of 2005 and the beginning of 2006.
