LONDON – British author JK Rowling will release four new Harry Potter eBooks next month, she announced on Thursday.
The non-fiction titles will be related to her famous novels and will be available on June 27, according to her Pottermore website.
They will be dedicated to “delve into the rich history of magic” so that followers of the young magician and his friends can explore everything related to the “magical world,” the site said.
“In addition to exploring the origins of magic through history and folklore, the eBook shorts will also feature notes, manuscript pages and charming sketches as previously seen in ‘Harry Potter: A History of Magic,’” Pottermore added.
Each one of the copies will be based on the lessons studied in the School of Witchcraft and Sorcery of Hogwarts and will be headed “Harry Potter: A Journey Through...” adapted from the book “Harry Potter: A History of Magic,” which was inspired by an exhibition at the British Library in 2017.
The first will be “Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts,” the second “Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology,” the third “Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy” and the fourth “Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures.”
The first pair will be published on June 27 and the others “will follow soon after,” Pottermore said.
The London artist Rohan Daniel Eason has illustrated the four copies, which will initially be available in English, French, Italian and German through the main shopping platforms.
