BERLIN – The iconic Berlin-based Roncalli Christmas Circus held on Wednesday a press photocall to promote its up-coming Christmas extravaganza which marks its 15th anniversary.
The Roncalli Circus, founded in 1976 by Bernhard Paul and André Heller, has a number of projects but perhaps the most well known is its yearly Berlin stint known as the Roncalli Christmas Circus, which this year will return to the Tempodrom for its 15th year.
The Circus’s eccentric owner, Paul, also owns one of the largest collections of circus paraphernalia in Europe which he plans to display in a museum.
Seemingly unaware of the passage of time the Roncalli immerses spectators in a nostalgic display of dynamism and color with an overtly vintage aesthetic.
The Roncalli Christmas Circus will show at the Berlin Tempodrom from Dec. 21-Jan. 6.
