Hazard Leads Chelsea to Beat Newcastle 3-1 in Premier League

LONDON With two goals from Eden Hazard, Chelsea came from behind on Saturday to defeat Newcastle 3-1 in the 15th round of the Premier League.

Although Dwight Gayle opened the scoring for Newcastle 12 minutes into the game held at Stamford Bridge, Hazard scored the equalizer just nine minutes later.

Alvaro Morata scored the second goal for Chelsea in the 32nd minute.

Hazard struck again after converting a penalty in the 74th minute to seal the 3-1 home victory for the Premier League defending champions.

After this win, Chelsea is in the third position in the Premier League table with 32 points, on goal difference behind second-placed Manchester United, which is set to visit Arsenal later on Saturday.

Newcastle, coached by Spaniard Rafael Benitez, provisionally holds the 12th position with 15 points after suffering its eighth defeat this season.

Manchester City, which is set to host West Ham on Sunday, leads the Premier League standings with 40 points.
