LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Dodgers centerfield Chris Taylor hit a two-out double in the sixth inning while outfielder Joc Pederson struck a solo home run in the seventh to take their team to a 3-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday and tie the World Series 3-3.
The series will now be decided in Game 7 on Wednesday at the Dodger Stadium.
Taylor tied the score at 1-1 in the sixth inning with an RBI-double off Houston starting pitcher Justin Verlander, who took his first loss of the postseason, striking out nine batters and allowing two runs and three hits.
Meanwhile, Pederson hit his third homer of the series, an opposite-field solo shot to the left in the seventh inning that gave the Los Angeles a 3-1 lead.
Early in the game, Astros center fielder George Springer had struck a third-inning homer – his fifth home run in the postseason and his fourth in the World Series – to secure a 1-0 lead for his team.
