PARIS – Spanish tennis player Feliciano Lopez reached the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters on Tuesday after beating French Pierre-Hugues Herbert 7-6 (4), 6-3.
The Spaniard took one hour and 35 minutes to defeat the world No. 75.
Lopez, world No. 33, saved three of four break points to claim victory over Herbert.
The Spaniard is set to play in the second round against 17th-seed Frenchman Lucas Pouille, who did not play in the first round at the Parisian tournament.
Pouille claimed his fourth ATP World Tour title on Sunday at the Erste Bank Open 500 after defeating fellow Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
