SHANGHAI – Authorities in China were investigating on Friday allegations of child abuse at a kindergarten in Beijing after parents complained to police.
Dozens of parents reported their concerns to police late on Wednesday, complaining that their children were potentially being abused after they found needle marks on their bodies.
Some children also reported that they were often given unidentified white pills, state news agency Xinhua reported.
Some of the teachers at the school in question have been suspended pending the results of the police investigation.
All the cases involve children from the same class at the RYB Education New World kindergarten in Chaoyang District in Guanzhuang, outside Beijing.
The police said they were analyzing security camera footage and have yet to reach any conclusions.
