6 al-Qaida Members Killed in US Drone Raids in Yemen

SANAA - A total of six suspected members of Muslim militant group al-Qaida have been killed in raids carried out by two United States drones in Yemen, security officials told EFE on Wednesday.

The first bombing destroyed a car carrying two commanders of the extremist organization, Saleh al-Aulaqi and Said Mahdi, in the southern province of Shabwah, according to the officials.

A second attack targeted a farm in the central province of Marib, the officials added, where four other members of the organization were hiding.

The US has recently intensified its attacks against al-Qaida militants, who are active in various parts of the country.
