RIYADH – Riad Hijab, general coordinator of the Syrian High Negotiations Committee, or HNC, of the Syrian opposition, called on U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to find swift solutions for the terrorism of the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
Hijab sent a message to Trump to congratulate him on the presidential election win.
The general coordinator urged Trump to find fair and swift solutions for the threat of terrorism in the region, particularly the “state terrorism practiced by the Syrian regime against the Syrian people.”
Hijab hoped to continue the cooperation between the United States and friends of Syria to stop the bloodshed of Syrians and protect civilians.
He also urged Trump to step up cooperation with HNC to restore peace in Syria.
For over five years, Syria has been suffering a conflict that claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands.
