Chavez to Return to Venezuela from Cuba Cancer Operation Next Week (VIDEO)
Chavez "said -- and we saw it ourselves -- that his recuperation is going well; he is on a good path," Colombia President Santos said. "He told me that he would stay a few more days and was thinking of returning to Venezuela at the beginning of next week." While the Venezuelan government remained mum on the return, they did release another video of Chavez walking with his daughters and Venezuela Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro.

CARACAS -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is recovering well from cancer surgery in Cuba and plans to return to Caracas next week, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said Wednesday from Havana.

Chavez "said -- and we saw it ourselves -- that his recuperation is going well; he is on a good path," Santos said. "He told me that he would stay a few more days and was thinking of returning to Venezuela at the beginning of next week."

Santos was in Havana to meet with Chavez and Cuban President Raul Castro about the upcoming Summit of the Americas that will be held in Colombia in April.

"I have come to talk with President Raul Castro and the with the Cuban government about the issue of Cuba in the summit that we will be having in Colombia next month and to bolster our relations," said Santos on arrival. "Those relations are very good, but every relationship can be improved."

Santos' trip marked the first visit by a Colombian President in over 10 years.

Chavez had travelled to Cuba on February 24 after his surprise announcement that a "lesion" was discovered in the area previously operated on. Last week, Chavez revealed that the lesion was indeed cancerous.

There has been no official confirmation from the Venezuelan government on when Chavez will return, but today, the government released video of Chavez walking haltingly with his daughters and with Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro. The type and location of the cancer has also never been revealed.
