LA PAZ – Two suspected criminals died when vigilantes set fire to a home in the Bolivian city of El Alto, police said.
A man and a woman were killed, while three other men survived the incident last Friday, Col. Roberto Campos told Efe.
The badly burned survivors have yet to give any statements, but police think the residence was attacked because neighbors identified the occupants as people responsible for crimes in the area.
A mob descended on the home, set the structure on fire and then blocked the door, trapping the occupants inside, according to police reports.
El Alto is a poor, industrial city neighboring La Paz. EFE
