LISBON Ė A magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck the Azorean archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday.
According to the Center for Information and Seismovolcanic Surveillance of the Azores (CIVISA), the quake took place at 6:22 am local time.
The epicenter was recorded 29 kilometers (18 miles) to the west of Capelo town on Faial Island.
The tremor was felt in other towns on the island, as well as on Pico Island.
No damage or casualties have been reported, although the CIVISA is monitoring developments.
Earthquakes of a magnitude between 4.0-4.9 are considered light, 5.0-5.9 are considered moderate, and 6.0-6.9 are deemed strong.
Big earthquakes measure anything from magnitude 7.0.
