Louis Oosthuizen Leads South African Open after 1st Round

JOHANNESBURG – South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen topped on Thursday the leaderboard of the South African Open at the end of the first round.

On the strength of nine birdies and zero mistakes, the 2010 Open Championship winner managed to wrap up the first round with 62 strokes, nine under par.

Although the United States’ Kurt Kitayama, who won the Mauritius Open a few days ago, recorded an eagle in the 14th hole and six birdies, he had to settle for the second spot, one stroke off the pace, tied with Madalitso Muthiya of Zambia.
