Asian Markets Close in Red Again

SEOUL – The Seoul stock exchange’s benchmark Kospi index declined 32.62 points on Thursday – or 1.55 percent – to 2,068.69.

The tech-heavy Kosdaq index fell 22.74 points – or 3.24 percent – to 678.38.

In Tokyo, the benchmark Nikkei index closed with a fall of 417.71 points – or 1.91 percent – to stand at 21,501.62.

The broader-based Topix index lost 29.89 points – or 1.82 percent – to close at 1,610.60.

Meanwhile, the Composite index of the Shanghai Stock Exchange fell 44.62 points – or 1.68 percent – to stand at 2,605.18.

The Component index of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, mainland China’s other bourse, also closed in the red, with a fall of 193.47 points – or 2.44 percent – to stand at 7,735.05.

Also, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s benchmark Hang Seng index closed with losses of 2.47 percent – or 663.30 points – to end the trading session at 26,156.38.
