Honduran Authorities Seize 467 Kilos of Cocaine

TEGUCIGALPA – Honduran authorities seized at least 467 kilograms (1,030 pounds) of cocaine in an operation by the Public Ministry and Technical Criminal Investigative Agency, officials said Friday.

A spokesperson for the agencies told reporters that the drug was hidden in a false compartment of a tow truck that was intercepted in La Ceibita, located in the western Santa Barbara department.

Two men identified as Pablo Montesinos, the truck’s driver, and Francisco Castillo were arrested in the operation.

The seized drugs are estimated to be valued at $4.5 million, according to the preliminary report.
