Laces, Rhinestones Shine in Francisco Saez’s NYFW SS19 Collection

NEW YORK – Spanish designer Francisco Saez returned to the New York runway on Tuesday to present a collection of long and short evening dresses that stood out for their transparent and rhinestone embroideries at the Spring/Summer 2019 Collection.

Although it has been a week dedicated to women’s fashion, Saez brought to the runway for the first time his designs for the modern and bold man, characterized by lace work.

His collection – Francisco Saez Atellier – has been inspired by the golden years of cinema, his great passion, and was replete with pastel shades ready for an Oscars red carpet.

“In (the collection) we show our best knowledge, handmade fabrics and rhinestones. We have been sewing (these pieces) since February,” Saez said in an interview with EFE.

“They are Oscar costumes, red carpet, jewelry dresses, as we say in Spain, unrepeatable one of a kind pieces. They are more open pieces, more loose,” he added.

This year he broke tradition by including designs for men’s clothing too with a lineup showcasing “a man confident of himself, very masculine, but we are going to show how a gentleman can wear a rhinestone, without any prejudice,” Saez said.
