TANGIER, Morocco – FC Barcelona rolled to a 2-1 win against Sevilla on Sunday, earning its 13th Spanish Super Cup victory.
Displaying two very different styles, the two teams went at each other in an impressive final match, which took place in the neutral North African venue.
Sevilla’s Sarabia opened the scoring in the ninth minute on a pass by Colombia’s Luis Muriel, setting the scoreboard at 1-0.
Just before halftime, a strike by Barça’s Gerard Pique on a saved Lionel Messi free kick at minute 41 tied the score.
A spectacular right kick by Ousmane Dembele in the 78th minute marked the Catalans’ win over the Sevillans.
