Barça Conduct Medical Tests before Start of Preseason

BARCELONA – Fifteen Barcelona players, none of them present at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, underwent medical tests on Wednesday, a day before the start of the preseason.

The players, as noted by Barça coach Ernesto Valverde, included: Sergi Roberto, Rafinha Alcantara, Jasper Cillessen, Munir El-Haddadi, Sergi Samper, Douglas Pereira, Marlon Santos, Nelson Semedo, Denis Suarez, Paco Alcacer, Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes, Aleix Vidal, Adria Ortola and Carles Aleña, the latter still recovering from an injury.

All of them underwent the usual analytical tests, as well as different physical and medical tests, including cardiac ultrasounds and stress tests, among others.

Valverde called all of the team to the first training session of the preseason following the medicals.

In the coming days, the rest of Barça’s players who participated in the World Cup with their respective national teams were expected to join preseason training.
