BERLIN – Germany’s interior ministry banned on Tuesday all activities by the Turkish nationalist biker gang Osmanen Germania BC over its alleged involvement in organized crimes that pose a threat to the country.
The prohibition was based on information obtained within the framework of an investigation carried out against the biker gang on March 13, which aimed to acquire more precise information about the group’s orientation.
“Once again the federal government and federal states have shown that they are decisively fighting all manifestations of organized crime in Germany. That naturally also applies to groups organized like biker gangs such as the ‘Osmanen Germania BC,’ whose members commit serious crimes,” Horst Seehofer said in a post published on the interior ministry’s official Twitter account.
“Anyone who rejects the rule of law cannot expect any leniency from us,” he added.
Osmanen Germania, mainly made up of members with Turkish roots, was founded in 2015 and has 16 chapters across Germany.
