MOSCOW – Ecuador’s foreign minister said on Wednesday during a visit to Moscow that her country had close and multidimensional links to Russia.
Maria Fernanda Espinosa also highlighted the similarities between the two countries when it came to foreign policy, ahead of a meeting with her Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
“We have deepened the current agreements and are looking towards widening cooperation in future,” she said.
“Our economic and trade potential has a future,” she said, pointing out that Ecuador was Moscow’s third trade partner in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The minister also passed on President Lenin Moreno’s congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin for having secured another term in office.
