LONDON – The father of Meghan Markle will walk her down the aisle when she marries the United Kingdom’s Prince Harry later in the month, Kensington Palace confirmed on Friday.
The royal residence shared the news in a statement ahead of the big day on May 19.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are very much looking forward to welcoming Ms. Markle’s parents to Windsor for the wedding,” the statement said.
Markle’s parents would arrive in the UK in the week before the wedding, the palace added.
“Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel,” while her mother will accompany the bride to Windsor Castle by car, according to the statement.
Harry’s older brother Prince William is set to play the role of best man.
