Messi Celebrates Argentina’s Qualification for 2018 World Cup

QUITO – Argentina forward Lionel Messi celebrated on Wednesday the qualification of his national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Argentine superstar posted a celebratory comment on his Facebook page after he scored a hat trick to lead Argentina to come from behind to defeat Ecuador 3-1 in their final group qualifying game.

“Come on Argentina!” he wrote.

“Goal achieved, see you at the 2018 World Cup Russia!” Messi added.

Argentina was about to fail to reach the World Cup, but Messi helped his team to the 3-1 away win over Ecuador and secure a spot in Russia next summer.
