ISTANBUL – Russia booked a place in the 2017 EuroBasket semifinals with a 74-69 win over Greece on Wednesday.
Though the Russians were trailing 13-9 five minutes into the game and ended the first quarter down 24-17, they outscored the Greeks 14-13 in the second quarter to trim the deficit.
After being tightly guarded in the first half, Russia’s Aleksei Shved broke free to score 22 points in the second half and help his team prevail.
