At Least 3 Killed amid Clashes at Palestinian Refugee Camp in Beirut

BEIRUT – At least three people were killed in clashes between rival armed groups at Sabra Palestinian refugee camp in the Lebanese capital Beirut, according to the state-owned Radio Lebanon on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Bilal Akar, a fugitive and a commander of one of the armed groups; a girl named Hilene and Samir Badran, a member of other rival group, the radio station reported.

Lebanese troops were deployed near Sabra after the clashes, but they did not enter the camp because the internal security of refugee camps in Lebanon is run by a Palestinian people’s committee.

Clashes between different Palestinian factions are frequent in refugee camps in Lebanon.
