ROME – Germany’s Alexander Zverev, world No. 17, advanced on Friday to the semifinals of the Rome Masters by defeating Canadian Milos Raonic, world No. 6.
Zverev, 20, took one hour and 29 minutes to beat Taonic 7-6 (4), 6-1.
The German, champion this year in Montpellier and Munich, will play in the semifinals against American John Isner, who beat Croatian Marin Cilic 7-6 (3), 2-6, 7-6 (2).
