ROME – Canadian tennis player Milos Raonic, world No. 6, defeated Czech Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-2, in the Rome Masters and is set to play against Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.
Raonic, fifth seed, eliminated the 31-year-old Czech in just 61 minutes in the round of 16.
Zverev advanced on Thursday to the quarterfinals after winning 6-3, 6-3, over Italian Fabio Fognini, who knocked out current world No. 1 Andy Murray from the competition on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old German defeated Fognini, world No. 29, in an hour and 18 minutes.
